The Streetlight Foreman is a pivotal role within Vscontracting, overseeing the supervision of assigned crews and equipment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, ensuring tasks are carried out in a safe and responsible manner according to contract specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safety Management: Conduct daily field safety inspections, maintain records, and ensure compliance with Alberta OH&S regulations.
  • Inventory Management: Verify material delivery accuracy, notify supervisors of discrepancies, and maintain a steady workflow on the jobsite.
  • Employee Development: Provide orientation training, promote good employee relations, and ensure all employees have had necessary training and equipment familiarization.
  • Operational Efficiency: Optimize resource utilization through proper planning and coordination of work, ensuring uniformity and compliance with contract specifications.
  • Emergency Response: Provide prompt response to emergency situations and ensure proper action is taken.

  • Work Management: Plan and schedule work for optimal efficiency, communicate effectively with team members, and ensure compliance with labor laws and organizational policies.

Requirements:

  • Minimum five years' experience in shallow utility construction industry.
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Valid Class 5 Alberta Driver's license with clean driver's abstract.
  • Valid Standard First Aid Certificate.
  • Valid Ground Disturbance Certificate.
  • Ability to navigate/complete app-based programs for safety and production paperwork.
  • Strong ability to read construction prints.
