Job Summary
Westlake is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Production Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for providing supervisory excellence to a shift of hourly associates in achieving Safety, Quality, and Production goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and control production assets, including equipment, employees, and raw materials, to continuously improve efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction.
- Review and recommend changes to machinery and equipment, production systems, and methods of work to optimize performance.
- Report any deficiencies in systems, facilities, machinery, equipment, and/or tools to the Plant Manager/Production Superintendent.
- Record and/or report product damage/nonconformities to the Plant/Production Superintendent and Quality Supervisor.
- Comply with Quality Control policies and procedures to ensure high-quality products.
- Participate in and contribute to effective production efficiency, including identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes.
- Communicate with administrative, plant, and supervisory staff as required to ensure seamless operations.
- Supervise all assigned hourly employees on the shift, prioritizing safety, product quality, and quantity while maintaining efficiency and cost control.
- Apply policies, rules, and collective agreements fairly and consistently to ensure a positive work environment.
- Provide and participate in training as required to ensure employees have the necessary skills and knowledge.
- Comply with divisional rules, regulations, and policies to ensure compliance and adherence.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager/Production Superintendent to support the team's goals and objectives.
- Participate in developing metrics to track progress and improvement efforts and work on achieving targets using said metrics.
- Encourage crew engagement and participation in ongoing plant improvement processes, including JH&SC, monthly crew safety meetings, 6S projects, and Continuous Improvement team and projects.
- Provide and/or participate in training as required to ensure employees have the necessary skills and knowledge.
- Apply policies, rules, and collective agreements fairly and consistently to ensure a positive work environment.
- Create/lead a positive example as relates to Westlake's Code of Business Ethics and Workplace Harassment/Discrimination Policy.
Requirements
- Three to five years of related supervisory experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- A self-motivated individual with well-developed organizational, time management, and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work and contribute in a team environment.
- Proficient with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
