About This Role:

As a Labourer in our Utilities team, you'll play a crucial part in the success of our utility (electrical and civil) construction projects in Calgary. Your primary responsibilities will include performing general labour activities, collaborating with tradespersons and site personnel, and ensuring a safe, efficient, and effective work environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Load and unload construction materials and move them to work areas.
  • Erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring, and barricades as required.
  • Mix, pour, and spread materials like concrete.
  • Level earth to fine grade specifications using rakes and shovels.
  • Remove rubble and debris at construction sites.
  • Operate pneumatic hammers, vibrators, and tampers as directed.
  • Tend or feed equipment like mixers, compressors, and pumps.
  • Clean up chemical spills and other contaminants as trained.
  • Oil and grease hoists and mobile equipment.
  • Direct traffic at or near construction sites.

Requirements:
  • High School diploma.
  • 2-5 years' experience in the construction industry as a General Labourer on utilities (electrical/civil) projects.


Preferred Skills:
  • Experience reading and interpreting locate drawings and calling in locates is considered an asset.
  • Construction Safety Certifications (Ground Disturbance, Confined Space Awareness/Rescue, Fall Arrest, WHMIS, First Aid) are considered assets.
