BGIS, a leading provider of customized facility management and real estate services, is seeking an experienced Fire Safety Specialist to join our team.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing risks, reporting on them, and proposing solutions related to fire prevention and compliance with relevant codes and regulations. As a liaison between tenants and BGIS, the Fire Safety Specialist will ensure seamless communication and cooperation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analysis and Reporting: Inspect client premises to ensure compliance with laws and regulations, analyze issues, and create action plans to resolve them.
  • Analyze fire alarm causes, provide solutions, and validate changes with stakeholders.
  • Report to the Lease Management Team, assist with lease renewals, and revise analysis reports when necessary.
Communication:
  • Liaise with tenants to address questions and concerns.
  • Maintain positive relationships with stakeholders, meet expectations, and consider owners' issues.
  • Prepare training plans for fire prevention awareness and extinguisher use.
  • Assist in coordinating evacuation plans, demonstrate leadership, and manage nonconformities.
Implementation:
  • Ensure solution implementation by providing expertise and support.
  • Work with tenants to upgrade emergency plans and coordinate their application.
Requirements:
  • College studies (ACS) or university degree in fire prevention.
  • More than 3 years, up to 5 years of job-related experience.
  • Fluency in French and English.
  • Good knowledge of fire prevention techniques, practices, and concepts related to fire prevention laws, regulations, and ordinances.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work in teams, adapt, and interpret data.
Salary Information:

The estimated salary range for this position is $30.26 - $37.82 per hour, based on the successful candidate's competencies, including experience, education, and performance related to this role.
