Job Summary

We are seeking skilled Journeyman and Electrical Apprentices to join our team. As an Electrician at BGIS-ITS, you will work on a wide range of projects, from new construction builds to maintenance and repair of electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Cut, thread, bend, assemble, and install conduits and other types of electrical conductor enclosures and fittings
• Pull wire and cable through conduits, position, maintain and install distribution and control equipment such as switches, relays, circuit breaker panels, and fuse enclosures
• Install single and multi-wire cables above and underground, install data cabling, and install and maintain fiber optic and signaling systems
• Work in a variety of environmental conditions, including outside in all weather
• Install fixtures and devices for industrial applications and systems
• Perform well with mechanical ability and a thorough knowledge of the principles of electricity, circuitry, and power distribution systems, and familiarity with the materials and techniques of construction
• Safely troubleshoot repairs logically and efficiently

Requirements

• Certificate of Qualification as a registered Electrical Apprentice in the NSAA, is required
• Minimum of 2 years of trade experience (apprenticeship included)
• Knowledge of Nova Scotia Electrical Safety Code, Occupational Health and Safety Act, and all other applicable legislation required
• Building Automation Controls experience
• Fire Alarm experience
• Experience in Class 1 Division 1
• Self-motivated, and willing to learn
• Work well independently and be a team player
• Good writing and verbal communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal relationship skills
• Valid Driver's License
