Estimated Salary: $78,000 - $88,000 per year
Job Description:
The Health and Safety Advisor will be both tactical and strategic, requiring a mix of time spent in operations and in the office. Key responsibilities include:
- Orientations and crew talks
- Liaising with WorkSafe
- Identifying hazards and conducting risk assessments
- Maintaining and updating safety literature and handbooks
- Reporting on OHS metrics
- Managing disability management processes
- Reviewing programs and procedures
- Supervising safety audits
Required Skills and Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- 3-5 years of health and safety experience
- Completion of a recognized OHS post-secondary program
- Full-time employment history (not contract/consultant)
- Comfort working at site level and in an office environment
- Ability to gain respect and work collaboratively with tradespeople and external stakeholders
- Heavy industrial experience in manufacturing or production-driven environments
- Highly organized with MS Word and Excel skills
- Strong interpersonal skills, including clear verbal and written English communication
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
- Certified Registered Safety Professional designation
- Occupational First Aid Level 3 accreditation
