About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Imaging Specialist to join our diagnostic radiology team.

Key Responsibilities
  • MRI Examinations: Perform high-quality MRI examinations in accordance with established protocols and physician requests.
  • Patient Preparation: Prepare and position patients, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the procedure.
  • Image Acquisition: Operate MRI equipment to capture high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Image Review: Review images for technical quality and collaborate with radiologists to confirm diagnostic findings.
  • Safety Protocols: Adhere to MRI safety guidelines, including screening patients for contraindications to magnetic fields or contrast agents.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform routine maintenance checks.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Diploma or degree in Medical Radiation Technology or equivalent.
  • Active registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT).
  • Certification with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) or equivalent.
  • Proficiency with MRI equipment from manufacturers such as Siemens, GE, or Philips.
Work Environment
  • Based in a hospital or diagnostic imaging center.
  • May require shift work, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Physical demands include standing for extended periods and assisting patients with mobility.
