Child and Adolescent Mental Health Therapist

The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Therapist is a vital member of the multidisciplinary team at Nova Scotia Health. Reporting to the Manager, this role involves providing assessment and planning, treatment and intervention, and crisis management for clients in the Family First Program.
This position requires working with children, youth, and their families in community-based settings, utilizing evidence-informed therapies and collaborating with families to share information and implement family-sensitive services.
Key Responsibilities- Providing individual and group therapies based on care plans to clients with mental health disorders and/or substance use issues.
- Collaborating with families to develop and implement treatment plans that address the unique needs of each client.
- Conducting risk assessments and developing strategies to prevent harm or reduce the risk of crises.
- Maintaining accurate records of client interactions, including progress notes and outcome evaluations.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- A Master's degree in a clinical health-related discipline, such as social work, psychology, or nursing.
- Current registration with the relevant provincial regulatory body.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of standard criteria used for the classification and diagnosis of mental health disorders.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.

Compensation and BenefitsClinical Therapists: $37.31 - $49.05 Hourly
Clinical Therapist (Developmental): $33.27 - $42.01 Hourly
