At One Degree Organic Foods, we are seeking a highly skilled Food Innovation Strategist to lead the design, implementation, and documentation of R&D processes in their assigned product category. This key role will spearhead innovation-level product development, ensuring reproducibility in large-scale manufacturing.

About the Role
  • This position reports directly to the Innovation Director and involves working under their direction to focus on products that are currently being produced or are being developed for production by One Degree.
  • The successful candidate will take these products and identify all relevant and important parameters that affect quality and functionality and establish the requisite standards and tolerances needed for those parameters and for that product.

This includes identifying analytical methodologies and setting them as the product specifications. The R&D Category Manager plays a pivotal role in organizing, formatting, and archiving the compiled information, including maintaining a systematic record-keeping process and regularly submitting collected data to the Quality Control department.

Responsibilities
  • Developing new products and applications through experiments and testing.
  • Creating accurate and verifiable Certificates of Analysis.
  • Developing documentation related to processes established for the organization's products.
  • Maintaining comprehensive records of formulations, results, and laboratory analyses.
  • Working collaboratively with different areas within the organization to full-scale production testing.

We estimate this role to have an annual salary range of $80,000 - $110,000, depending on experience, qualifications, and location. A strong background in food science and technology, along with excellent organizational skills, is essential for this position.
