Kitchen Assistant

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Helper to join our team at strEATS Cloverdale Kitchen. As a Kitchen Helper, you will be responsible for assisting our kitchen staff with various tasks, ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist with food preparation, including washing, peeling, and cutting vegetables and fruits.
- Operate dishwashers to wash dishes, glassware, and flatware.
- Clear and clean tables, trays, and chairs.
- Sanitize and wash dishes and other items by hand.
- Package take-out food and portion and wrap foods.
- Take customers' orders and receive, unpack, and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards, and other storage areas.
- Clean and sanitize the kitchen, including work surfaces, cupboards, storage areas, appliances, and equipment.
- Remove kitchen garbage and trash.
- Will train.
- Physically demanding work environment.
- Fast-paced environment.
- Repetitive tasks.
- Standing for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 9 kg (20 lbs) and up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs).
- Support for newcomers and refugees, including assistance with immediate settlement needs and social and labour market integration.
- Support for youth employment, including on-the-job training and mentorship opportunities.
- Support for Indigenous people, including cultural competency training and awareness training.
- Support for visible minorities, including hiring policies that discourage discrimination and mentorship programs.
