Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Systems Analyst to join our Derivative Hedge Qualifications team at Scotiabank. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for implementing hedging strategies under International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) to ensure the Bank qualifies eligible derivatives for hedge accounting treatment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Derivative Hedge Qualifications staff and IT support to monitor HAQS performance and resolve production issues promptly.
  • Investigate HAQS errors and abnormal behavior, and help other team members to raise JIRA, prioritize JIRA/change request, perform/review UAT test, and ensure production releases are implemented properly.
  • Draft business requirements for HAQS change/enhancement, including regular releases and large projects, and bridge the gap between DHQ and technology sides.
  • Investigate and resolve incorrect hedge accounting outcomes in EGL due to upstream or downstream system issues.
  • Champion smart automation, including EUC automation and system-related controls.
Requirements
  • Self-driven, analytical, and collaborative problem-solving, time-management, and communication skills.
  • 4+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst, with strong experience in requirement gathering and documentation creation.
  • 4+ years of combined experience in JIRA, Confluence, MS Project, MS Office suite, or equivalent tools.
  • A recognized undergraduate degree in business administration, computer science, or related field.
  • Knowledge of Peak or other trading systems, HAQS, PeopleSoft EGL, OBI.
