Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in various aspects of construction, including loading and unloading materials, performing pre-operational inspections, and reading blueprints to determine work requirements. You will also be involved in erecting and dismantling concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring, and barricades, as well as mixing, pouring, and spreading materials such as concrete and asphalt.

Responsibilities
  • Loading and unloading construction materials
  • Performing pre-operational inspections
  • Reading blueprints to determine work requirements
  • Erecting and dismantling concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring, and barricades
  • Mixing, pouring, and spreading materials such as concrete and asphalt
  • Assisting in drilling and blasting rock on construction sites
  • Assisting in framing houses, erecting walls, and building roofs
  • Leveling earth to fine grade specifications
  • Paving and raking asphalt
  • Assisting in demolishing buildings
  • Cleaning and piling salvaged materials
  • Performing routine maintenance work
  • Removing rubble and other debris at construction sites
  • Tending or feeding machines or equipment used in construction
  • Directing traffic at or near construction sites
