Hut8 is on a mission to build and operate some of the world's largest data centers for next-generation computing workloads, including AI, Colocation, Cloud, and Bitcoin Mining.

About the Role

The Network Analyst I, II role will be responsible for providing strong technical leadership in the planning, design, and implementation of network infrastructure and services nationally across Hut8 HPC.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed network designs in areas such as on-premises data (LAN, WAN, Data Center), and Network Security.
  • Work with configurations associated with Layer 2 switching (VLANs, STP, vPC, LACP), Layer 3 routing (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP), Network Security (ACLs, NATs, IPsec VPNs, SSL remote access VPNs), and QoS.
  • Create methods of procedure to implement MPLS routers, Ethernet switches, Routers.
  • Participate in new product/service development and provide recommendations.
  • Monitor changes in technology and make assessments on the Hut8 network.
  • Provide network project scope, drawing, configuration, MOP, and other related documents; help drive the execution of engineering initiatives, work collaboratively with project managers, support staff, and customers on designs and services.
  • Support Hut networks on a 24x7x365 basis.
  • Evaluate and ensure the security of the network through design, patching, hardening, and operational best practices including secure authentication, logging, and monitoring.
  • Manage the network lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with network carrier partners.

About You

  • Hold a degree or diploma in Electrical / Computer / Software Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or equivalent experience.
  • Understand service provider IP/MPLS network standards and technologies including but not limited to: MPLS, VPLS, IS-IS, OSPF, BGP, IPv6, STP, QoS, VoIP, cloud, optical networking.
  • Have proven experience planning and deploying an IP carrier-grade infrastructure.
  • Hold a CCNP or equivalent certification.
  • Have experience with network-oriented automation and tool familiarity (Python, NETCONF/YANG models).
  • Demonstrate troubleshooting skills in lab and production networks.
  • Show proven planning and IP engineering skills.
  • Exhibit strong problem-solving and reasoning skills (critical thinking).
  • Display excellent analytical and project management, reporting, organization, and documentation skills.
  • Have extensive knowledge of telecommunications and related industries.
  • Stay up-to-date with current IP Network technology trends.
  • Show a self-motivated, driven, and adaptable attitude.
  • Have strong analytical skills.
  • Be a strong team player who can work effectively with individuals and teams at all levels, across functions.

About the Work Environment

This role is remote. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. This position offers a salary range of $80,000 to $100,000 CAD.
