About the Role:

The Store Manager is a key leadership position at Metro Inc., responsible for the day-to-day operations of a retail store. This role requires a strong business acumen, excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to lead a team to achieve sales and customer service goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage store operations to achieve sales, profit, and margin targets, as well as labor and shrink targets.
  • Work with the District Manager to implement merchandising programs, procedures, and processes to maximize operational efficiencies and profitability.
  • Collaborate with Department Managers to establish productivity goals and operational standards, ensuring merchandise is ordered and displayed according to company planograms.
  • Ensure the store is maintained in accordance with all health and safety regulations, as established by the company and regulatory authorities.
  • Lead a team of employees to provide a superior shopping experience for customers, ensuring a customer-friendly shopping environment.
  • Actively utilize new technology initiatives to ensure own and staff proficiency.
  • Maintain a pulse on competitive activity in the local market area and provide recommendations to Operations to overcome competitive disadvantages.
  • Participate in store-based initiatives to enhance community involvement and enhance the store's image as a supporter of community activities.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with outside vendors and union business representatives.
  • Ensure store compliance with all legislative and regulatory bodies.

Requirements:

  • College or University education
  • 3 to 5 years progressive management experience
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
  • Good business acumen
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Strong time management skills
