Job Title: Human Resources & Labour Relations Officer

Vita Community Living Services of Toronto Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Human Resources & Labour Relations Officer to join our team. This is a full-time, 12-month contract position.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a Labour Relations and HR professional to lead our labour relations matters, including grievances, internal investigations, and collective bargaining. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of labour/management principles, Canada Labour Code, Human Rights, Employment law Statutes, and the Labour Relations Board process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead labour relations matters, including grievances, internal investigations, and collective bargaining.
  • Provide mentoring, coaching, and training in labour relations and HR matters to employees.
  • Assist in the recruitment of salaried staff, including interviews and preparation of offer letters and contracts of employment.
  • Participate in MCCSS audits, providing reports and recommendations.
  • Comply with all organization's policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Degree or diploma in Labour Relations or related field or other relevant post-secondary education.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive Labour Relations experience, negotiating collective agreements and experience working with unions in a non-profit environment.
  • Minimum 3 years management experience.
