Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Central Bookkeeper to join our team at the Catholic Independent Schools Kamloops Diocese. As a key member of our financial operations team, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive accounting direction and support to our schools and diocese.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer and maintain payroll for our schools and diocese
  • Strategically manage the financial network and relationships between the diocese and our schools
  • Assist in and provide overall financial direction to the Superintendent, School Principals, and Pastors
  • Strategically manage banking relationships within the diocese
  • Manage all accounting and bookkeeping functions for the diocese
  • Provide direction and oversight to the budgeting function within the diocese office and its schools
  • Ensure financial records are kept up to date with the latest transactions and changes
  • Meet regularly with the Superintendent and diocese team
Requirements
  • 5+ years of leadership experience, particularly in finance or operations
  • Knowledge and experience in payroll (particularly with ADP)
  • In-depth knowledge of financial functions, regulations, and accounting procedures
  • Previous experience in the not-for-profit sector considered an asset
  • Demonstrated record of honesty, integrity, and confidentiality
  • Knowledge and competency with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive, ShareDrive, Teams, etc.), Adobe, and other office support products
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet tight deadlines

  • Active practice of the Catholic faith
