We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Anthropology instructor to join our team at Selkirk College for the Fall semester. This position involves teaching Anthropology 101 (Introduction to Cultural Anthropology) and Anthropology 205 (Anthropology of Religion) at our Castlegar campus.

About the Role

  • Deliver instruction on Anthropology courses at the undergraduate level, fostering a deep understanding of cultural and social dynamics.
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans, assessments, and evaluations to ensure student success.
  • Provide valuable feedback and assess student progress, promoting academic growth and achievement.
  • Ensure course outcomes are met through assessments, aligning with the college's academic standards.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Master's degree in Anthropology, with a strong background in cultural and social anthropology.
  • Prior experience in teaching at the post-secondary level, with a proven track record of success.
  • Familiarity with Moodle Learning Management System is desirable, but not required.
  • Knowledge of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission Report is required, with a deep understanding of its implications for Indigenous communities.
