About the Role:
Dynacare is seeking a skilled Laboratory Assistant to join our team. As a Laboratory Assistant, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our laboratory services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect and process patient specimens, including blood samples and other biological materials
- Perform phlebotomy procedures, including venipuncture and capillary puncture
- Sort and transport specimens to the laboratory for analysis
- Ensure accurate and timely data entry and documentation
- Provide excellent customer service and communication to patients and healthcare professionals
- Collaborate with laboratory staff to maintain quality metrics and regulatory compliance
Requirements:
- Secondary school diploma and completion of a Laboratory Assistant training program or Medical Lab Assistance course
- Phlebotomy certification and experience in a laboratory setting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality
