About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Estimator to join our team at Pacesetter Homes Edmonton. As an Estimator, you will play a critical role in analyzing costs and preparing estimates to facilitate the construction of new homes. Your expertise will help us make informed business decisions and drive profitability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough project take-offs and estimate job files to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Estimate material and labor costs, identifying opportunities for cost savings.
  • Maintain a directory of suppliers and trades, fostering positive relationships and staying up-to-date on pricing and options.
  • Prepare and distribute purchase orders, change orders, and other required documents to suppliers or trades.
  • Collaborate with the Purchasing, Production, and Construction teams on project changes and contribute to team efforts as needed.
  • Ensure the product catalogue is up-to-date, with the latest pricing and costs posted.
  • Liaise with the Design Center on product upkeep, including new and discontinued products.
  • Work with the Production Administrator on building spec files.

Requirements

  • Degree or diploma in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of estimating-related experience in the construction industry, with at least 1 year in residential construction.
  • Satisfactory verification of a criminal record check.
  • Comfortable using office equipment, Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, and PowerPoint), and estimating software (BuildPro, SupplyPro, NewStar, or similar).

Working Conditions
