Niagara Energy Products Inc. (NEP), now part of NAC International, is seeking a Director of Financial Operations to lead our finance team.

About the Role

The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership and oversight for financial planning, analysis, and reporting, as well as accounting operations, cost control, and audit.

  1. Develop and implement strategic plans to drive business growth and improve profitability.
  2. Provide leadership for financial planning and analysis.
  3. Oversee accounting operations, including payables, receivables, payroll, and tax preparation.
  4. Establish and maintain manufacturing costing standards.
  5. Develop and track revenue and expense metrics.
  6. Collaborate with Operations and Sales to ensure fiscal targets are met.
  7. Lead and manage the annual budgeting process.
  8. Conduct financial analysis and forecasting to inform business decisions.

Responsibilities also include:

  • Managing AR/AP cycles with external partners and customers.
  • Optimizing cash flow and ensuring cost-effectiveness in operations.
  • Taking ownership of investments and conducting regular audits of expenditures, assets, and liabilities.
  • Leading the Corporate Governance function and ensuring adequate levels of governance and oversight.
  • Managing commercial oversight of incoming and outgoing orders and contracts.

Candidate Qualifications

  1. An Accounting designation (CPA) is required.
  2. At least 10-15 years experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment.
  3. Knowledge and skills in preparing monthly financial statements.
  4. Experience with Financial Planning and Analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
  5. Experience in ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics / NAV experience is an asset).
  6. Knowledge of Canadian GAAP (IFRS or ASPE).
  7. Experience processing payroll through ADP.
  8. A strong sense of discretion and confidentiality.
  9. Ability to work independently and support various levels of leadership, management, and departments.
  10. Meticulous record keeping skills and strong attention to detail.
  11. Outstanding organizational skills.
  12. A strong work ethic, diligence, and commitment.
  13. A proven track record of strong problem-solving skills.
  14. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
  15. Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  16. Excellent communication and presentation skills.
