About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Economist to join our Data Analysis team at the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC). As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting research on household and housing conditions, issues, challenges, and solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct advanced economic and market analysis to ensure the quality, accuracy, timeliness, and reliability of research and products.
  • Develop and apply new analysis techniques to test economic relationships and identify data needs for internal clients.
  • Liaise with stakeholders to consult on data and support requirements.
Requirements:
  • A postgraduate degree in economics (Master or Doctoral) with a minimum of 3 years related experience in advanced economic and market analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience providing analysis and researching socio-economic conditions as related to the housing market.
  • An understanding of the linkage between housing finance issues, regulations, and public policies, housing markets, and real economy.
  • Strong communication skills in English and French, including the ability to speak and write clearly and succinctly, and tailor settings and styles to various audiences.
  • A demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects within prescribed timelines.
