FIREFIGHTER CADET

Purpose of the Position

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Receiving training in core areas of firefighting, including First Aid & CPR, communications, general fire and rescue operations, and fire safety and prevention.
  • Attending a minimum of 25 training events per year.

Requirements

To be successful in this position, you will:

  • Have related training and experience in the firefighting field, with a demonstrated passion to continue developing in this area.
  • Be between 15 and 18 years of age.
  • Be enrolled in high school within Lac La Biche County.
  • Have good conflict resolution skills.
  • Be well-developed in public relations skills.

Position Details

  • Salary starts at a competitive rate and increases when the candidate successfully becomes a Firefighter.
  • Casual position.
  • Hours: On call for days, evenings, and weekends - no guaranteed hours per week.
