About the Role

Rocketship Public Schools is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Wellness Counselor to join our team. As a key member of our school community, you will play a vital role in supporting the social-emotional well-being of our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Direct Services: Offer individual, group, and family therapy sessions to students, as well as crisis intervention and consultation services as needed.
  • Collaborate with School Teams: Work closely with teachers, school leaders, and other support staff to develop and implement strategies to support student success.
  • Develop and Implement Programs: Create and lead social-emotional learning programs, including social skills groups and therapeutic case management.
  • Monitor Progress and Evaluate Effectiveness: Track student progress and evaluate the effectiveness of programs and services.
  • Provide Professional Development: Offer training and coaching to school staff on topics such as trauma-informed education, crisis intervention, and social-emotional learning.
  • Build Relationships and Communicate Effectively: Foster strong relationships with students, parents, and school staff, and communicate effectively to ensure seamless collaboration.
Requirements
  • License or Registration: Possession of a valid license or associate level registration for a mental health professional, such as a social worker, marriage family therapist, clinical counselor, psychologist, or school counselor.
  • Experience: At least one year of experience providing mental health services in a school-based setting, preferably with students with a range of disabilities.
  • Skills and Qualities: Strong organizational skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to Rocketship's approach to serving all students.
