Job Title: Diagnostic Imaging Technologist I

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Imaging Technologist I to join our team at James Paton Memorial Regional Health Centre in Gander. As a Diagnostic Imaging Technologist I, you will be responsible for performing technical diagnostic imaging services, including producing high-quality images that are interpreted by physicians to aid in medical diagnosis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate a variety of technical equipment, including Picture Archiving Communication System (PACS), to manipulate and annotate images.
  • Assist senior technologists and physicians in complex diagnostic imaging procedures.
  • Maintain equipment, ensure quality control, and practice radiation safety measures.
  • Perform tasks in accordance with provincial standards of practice and adhere to the Canadian Association Medical Radiation Technologists (C.A.M.R.T.) Code of Ethics.
  • Share standby duty and demonstrate an awareness of and responsibility for promoting and supporting person-and family-centered care.

Requirements:

  • Graduation from high school with a diploma recognized by the Newfoundland and Labrador Department of Education and Early Childhood Development.
  • Successful completion of a three-year medical radiography technology program approved by Central Health.
  • Current and ongoing certification with the Canadian Association Medical Radiation Technologists (C.A.M.R.T.).
  • Demonstrated ability to work with minimum supervision and use independent judgment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team while providing client-centered care.
  • Consistent demonstration of Central Health's corporate values: Innovation, Compassion, Accountability, Respect, Excellence (ICARE).
  • A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required for this position.
  • A satisfactory certificate of conduct from the RCMP or local police authority.

Working Conditions:

Shift work is required, with a 70-hour bi-weekly schedule. The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate a commitment to safety and patient care.
