Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Back End Mobile Developer to join our team at Trails End Taphouse & Restaurant. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the server-side components of our mobile applications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and Development: Design, develop, and maintain the back-end server infrastructure and APIs that support our mobile applications.
  • Server-Side Logic: Implement server-side logic to handle requests, data processing, and database interactions.
  • Performance Optimization: Optimize server performance to ensure quick response times and efficient resource utilization.
  • API Development: Create RESTful or GraphQL APIs that enable communication between the mobile app and the server.
  • API Documentation: Define API endpoints and ensure they are well-documented for consumption by front-end developers and third-party services.
  • Security: Implement authentication and authorization mechanisms to secure API endpoints.
  • Database Management: Design and maintain databases to store and retrieve data required by mobile applications.
  • Database Optimization: Optimize database queries and indexes for efficient data retrieval and storage.
  • Data Integrity: Ensure data integrity, security, and scalability of the database system.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate closely with front-end developers to ensure smooth integration of server-side components with mobile apps.
  • Third-Party Integration: Work with third-party services and APIs for additional functionality, such as payment gateways or external data sources.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor and analyze server performance, identifying bottlenecks and implementing optimizations.
  • Infrastructure Scaling: Plan and implement strategies for scaling the server infrastructure as user and data volumes grow.
  • Security Best Practices: Implement security best practices to protect user data, prevent unauthorized access, and defend against common web vulnerabilities.
  • Testing and Quality Assurance: Write unit tests and conduct testing to ensure the reliability and correctness of server-side code.
  • Documentation: Document server-side code, APIs, and database schemas for the benefit of other team members.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience: Proven experience in back-end development, including server-side programming languages (e.g., Python, Ruby, Java).
  • Database Management: Strong knowledge of database management systems (e.g., SQL, NoSQL).
  • API Development: Proficiency in RESTful or GraphQL API development.
  • Cloud Platforms: Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and containerization (e.g., Docker) is a plus.
  • Mobile App Development: Understanding of mobile app development and knowledge of mobile platforms (iOS and Android) is beneficial.
  • Security: Familiarity with security best practices and common web vulnerabilities.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work well in a collaborative team environment.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
