Job Summary

The Pharmacy Summer Student position at Prairie Mountain Health provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic pharmacy environment. As a Pharmacy Summer Student, you will work closely with our experienced pharmacy team to support the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation and distribution of medications via our automated medication distribution system.
  • Develop skills in pharmacy software systems and learn to navigate our electronic health record system.
  • Participate in the compounding and manufacturing of pharmaceutical products, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Contribute to inventory control functions, maintaining accurate records and ensuring efficient stock management.
  • Support the Regional Pharmacy Program, working collaboratively with team members to achieve program goals.
  • Distribute controlled substances and maintain accurate records, adhering to regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in the research and literature search of drug information requests, providing accurate and timely responses.
  • Complete and present a project assigned by the Manager of Pharmacy Services, demonstrating your skills and knowledge.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, contributing to the smooth operation of our pharmacy team.

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn new software systems.
