Experienced Production Supervisor for a Dynamic Plastic Extrusion Environment

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to oversee the production process in our dynamic plastic extrusion environment.
About the Role: As a Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and controlling manufacturing processes. You will ensure that goods and services are produced efficiently, with the correct amount being produced at the right cost and level of quality. In this role, you will oversee the production process, coordinating all production activities and operations, and leading our production team to meet goals in a safe and efficient manner.
Main Responsibilities:
- Equipment Management: Learn, adjust, calibrate, and test equipment tooling to ensure proper pressure, speed, temperature, and general operation.
- Team Collaboration: Work with team members, shift supervisors, and all necessary personnel to address complications as they arise.
- Production Planning: Be involved in the pre-production (planning) stage as well as the production (control and supervision) stage.
- Cost Optimization: Ensure that production is cost-effective by estimating costs and negotiating budgets with clients and managers.
- Team Supervision: Supervise the production team to manage and execute production projects.
- Schedule Management: Work with the team to plan, schedule, and perform production activities.
- Daily Workload Assignment: Assign daily workload to team members.
- Process Improvement: Develop production programs and guidelines to support company objectives.
- Maintenance Scheduling: Schedule equipment maintenance and inspection on a regular basis.
- Quality Control: Suggest process improvements to enhance production quality and capacity.
- Employee Development: Organize job training for team members to achieve production goals.
- Issue Resolution: Investigate production issues and develop resolutions.
- Project Requirements: Determine equipment, material, and manpower requirements for project execution.
- Cost Reduction: Recommend cost reduction initiatives while maintaining quality standards.
- HR Support: Assist in employee recruitment, performance evaluation, promotion, retention, and termination activities.
- Production Monitoring: Monitor production activities and adjust schedules for on-time delivery.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure that the final product meets quality standards and customer specifications.
- Compliance: Ensure that the team follows company policies and safety standards.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 3+ years of experience as a Production Manager or equivalent role.
- Industry Knowledge: Experience in the plastic extrusion related field is a must.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Management or a related field would be considered a strong asset.
- Soft Skills: Organization and attention to detail are necessary for this role. Problem-solving abilities and conflict management skills are also essential.
- Leadership Abilities: Leadership abilities, managing employees, are crucial for this position.
