Job Summary

As a Class 1 Driver with the Fort McKay Group of Companies LP, you will be responsible for the safe operation of various types of tractor trailers, including vans and decks, for the pick-up and delivery of materials to destinations. This is a safety-sensitive position that requires completion of pre-employment testing and a Class 1 driver's license (or equivalent), as well as a satisfactory Five (5) year Commercial Driver's Abstract to support insurability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate commercial vehicles in accordance with Alberta's hour of service regulations.
  • Complete daily driver logs and fill out pre and post trip inspections.
  • Ensure vehicles are properly equipped and in proper working order.
  • Give proper care to the operation and maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
  • Follow the scheduled plan for deliveries and inform supervisor if deviations are necessary.
  • Maintain shipping and loading documents.
  • Maintain professional driving habits at all times.
  • Be alert to risks and threats to prevent losses.
  • Be flexible and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
  • Valid Class one (1) driver's license and clean Five (5) year driver's abstract.
  • Five (5) year Commercial Driver Abstract, current within 30 days.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English.
  • Load securement and deck experience.
  • Air Brake 'Q' Endorsement.
  • Forklift certification.
  • Warehousing/yard work experience is an asset.
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada.
