Great Canadian Entertainment is seeking a seasoned Sales and Catering Director to lead the sales operation at our Pickering Casino Resort and Great Blue Heron Casino and Hotel.

About the Role:

The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving revenue growth, developing strong relationships with clients, and providing exceptional customer service. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing sales strategies to increase market share and revenue growth.
  • Leading a team of sales professionals to achieve sales targets and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, including hoteliers, meeting planners, and event coordinators.
  • Staying up-to-date on industry trends and competitor activity to ensure the resort remains competitive.
  • Collaborating with other departments, including marketing and operations, to ensure seamless execution of sales initiatives.
  • Analyzing sales data and market trends to inform sales strategies and optimize revenue growth.
  • Developing and maintaining a knowledge base on market, positioning, and amenities of the resort.
  • Responding to client inquiries and resolving any issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Participating in trade shows and other industry events to promote the resort and build relationships with potential clients.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Minimum 5 years of sales experience in the hospitality industry.
  • Proven track record of driving revenue growth and developing strong relationships with clients.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze sales data and market trends to inform sales strategies.
  • Knowledge of sales systems and software, including Opera Sales & Catering and Property Manager.
  • Graduate of a hospitality degree or diploma program.
