About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Computer Network Technician to join our team at Shaaz. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our computer networks and systems.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will have 1-2 years of experience in network administration and a strong understanding of LANs, WANs, and mainframe networks. You will be responsible for coordinating access and use of computer networks, maintaining and troubleshooting network equipment, and providing problem-solving services to users.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate access and use of computer networks to ensure optimal performance and security
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and administer local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), mainframe networks, and computer workstations and peripheral equipment
  • Monitor the performance of computer systems and networks to identify areas for improvement
  • Evaluate and install computer hardware, networking software, and operating system software to ensure compatibility and efficiency
  • Provide problem-solving services to network users, including troubleshooting and resolving technical issues
  • Perform routine network start-up and close-down procedures and maintain control records
  • Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations to ensure business continuity
  • Conduct tests and perform security and quality controls to ensure network integrity
Requirements
  • Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year
  • Experience: 1-2 years of experience in network administration
  • Strong knowledge of LANs, WANs, and mainframe networks
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
