Job Description

The successful candidate will join our team as an Airworthiness Engineering Expert in the ATR section of our ASL Engineering Shared Services (ESS) organization. This role involves supporting engineering activities related to the airworthiness, safety, reliability, operational disruption, and commercial cost-effectiveness of all ATR aircraft types operated by ASL Airlines and its customer airlines.

The key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring applicable FAA/EASA Airworthiness Directives are reviewed and managed with compliant technical and/or procedural actions.
  • Identifying, reviewing, producing, and following up on technical documentation related to Non-mandatory Modifications (SB, SL, STC, or Service docs).
  • Monitoring operational reliability and introducing effective delay mitigation actions to ensure target levels for operational reliability are achieved.
  • Liaising with the ASL Operator CAMO to ensure subcontracted CAMO services are delivered and fully compliant.
  • Using Reliability Centred Maintenance Philosophy, coordinating with the ASL Operator CAMOs, to produce and manage initial issue and revision to AMP, support AMP optimization projects, review findings to ensure the AMP remains compliant and effective considering operating experience.
  • Managing Reliability Reports and contributing to the company reliability control process.
  • Providing assistance to aircraft phase-in/phase-out projects as required, including records review of AD/SB, HTC, LLPs, OCCM, modification status, to support the Operator CAMO in accordance with EASA/FAA/CAA requirements.
  • Managing technical investigations and implementing corrective actions.
  • Investigating occurrence reports, performing appropriate technical and/or procedural actions to minimize the possibility of recurrence for the fleet.
  • Supporting ASL Operator Line Maintenance and Flight Operations with specialist technical support.
  • Driving continuous improvement, processes, and procedures.
  • Leading and mentoring the Technical Engineers in their respective teams.
  • Preparing and maintaining the team Manpower Plan on a quarterly basis.
  • Assisting the ASL Operator with managing the technical relationship with ATR to ensure they effectively support ASL activities.
  • Supporting the ESS Head of Engineering Services in discharging day-to-day continuous airworthiness duties for the assigned fleet.
  • Staying abreast of industry best practice ideas and developments, adopting these where appropriate.

This role requires strong aviation engineering knowledge and experience in a CAMO organization, preferably in ATR aircraft systems. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are also essential, along with the ability to interact and influence across Engineering sections, OEMs, other operators, industry experts, and regulators.

Requirements

The ideal candidate must have:

  • Completed a recognized apprenticeship in aircraft engineering with four years' post-apprenticeship aircraft engineering experience, or
  • Held a recognized aircraft engineering qualification (Degree in Engineering or aerospace discipline or an equivalent professional qualification) with minimum 3 years' experience in an Engineering role, or
  • Held a Part 66 licence issued by the IAA or equivalent authority.

In addition, the candidate should possess:

  • Strong supplier management experience.
  • Sound knowledge of maintenance planning.
  • Sound knowledge of airworthiness regulations.
  • Sound knowledge of aircraft maintenance programmes and development.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Fluent in English.
Salary Information

The estimated annual salary for this position is €80,000 - €110,000 depending on qualifications and experience.
