Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Application Developer to join our team at Dana Canada Corp. as an Application Designer. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing vehicle software solutions for various applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with clients and external teams to develop vehicle software for all-electric or hybrid vehicle control, multi-speed transmission, generator, and other applications.
  • Assist clients in selecting powertrain products and designing vehicles to meet their specific needs.
  • Support clients on-site or remotely for commissioning Dana TM4 products or for technical meetings.
  • Analyze vehicle problems and identify the source by conducting initial analyses and working jointly with clients to establish test protocols.
  • Develop and perform vehicle performance simulations to ensure optimal vehicle performance.
  • Develop and improve internal simulation tools and diagnostic tools used by the team.
  • Support clients in defining their requirements, establishing feasibility, and determining the amount of work needed for modifications or new software developments.
  • Participate in proposing and carrying out innovation activities to improve our products and services.
  • Work closely with engineering teams to ensure seamless collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Make technical presentations at all levels of the client's organization to communicate complex technical information effectively.
Requirements
  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechatronic, or Software Engineering.
  • Five years of relevant experience in software development and systems engineering or similar.
  • Good knowledge of electrodynamic systems and software and control systems.
  • Knowledge of Matlab Simulink, C/C++, and Python programming languages.
  • Knowledge of CAN data buses and customer service-oriented skills.
  • Investigative and diagnostic skills, with a strong interest in teamwork and collaboration.
  • Bilingual in French and English (spoken and written).
  • Available to travel up to 25% of the time.
Assets
  • Knowledge of Atlassian tools (BitBucket, JIRA, Confluence).
  • Knowledge of Polarion Software and embedded systems development processes (A-Spice or DO178).
  • Knowledge of the ISO26262 standard.
