Operations Supervisor Job Summary

The Operations Supervisor plays a critical role in overseeing all aspects of our warehouse operations, ensuring seamless execution of receiving, inventory control, picking, loading, safety, and security processes. This position requires collaboration with third-party loading services to guarantee accurate and timely shipments, while also planning, organizing, leading, and directing warehouse personnel activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure employees adhere to policies, processes, and performance standards.
  • Support the rollout of new processes, providing training support.
  • Train, supervise, and oversee reporting personnel in designated areas.
  • Maintain targets, objectives, and goals throughout induction processes.
  • Implement/supervise safe practices and ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • Coordinate effective communications with internal and external clients.
  • Assist in annual reviews for all warehouse associates.
  • Manage and control the yard, inbound and outbound flow.
  • Manage the shipping of all products to other Metro facilities.
  • Ensure proper processes with a focus on identifying damages and ensuring stop dates.
  • Supervise all warehouse personnel, including hiring, scheduling, and development.
  • Oversee all receiving activities to ensure on-time delivery and monitor yard management.
  • Supervise billing for all warehousing storage.
  • Supervise hours/payroll and all warehouse operations employees.
  • Ensure the completion and sign-off of the end-of-day checklist.
  • Send end-of-day reports to leadership up to the regional level after each shift.
  • Ensure a proper handoff to the next shift supervisor.
  • Complete end-of-day checklists and reports.
  • Perform disciplinary actions when required.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience as a Warehouse Supervisor or similar leadership position with a proven track record.
  • Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • Strong working knowledge of warehouse operations and leadership.
