Job Title: Cook - Part-Time Errinrung

Southbridge Care Homes is seeking a skilled Cook to join our team in Errinrung, Thornbury On. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality meals to our residents.

Responsibilities:
  • Review and implement regular and therapeutic menus, ensuring compliance with dietary requirements and standards.
  • Prepare and cook meals, including evening meals, following standardized recipes and production sheets.
  • Monitor food supplies, kitchen equipment, and ensure proper operation and maintenance.
  • Direct and supervise Dietary Aides in food preparation and serving activities.
  • Assume responsibility for routine departmental operations, including staff replacements and service calls for malfunctioning equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records, including menu changes, delivery receipts, and temperature checks.
Qualifications:
  • Chef training or culinary management certificate/diploma from a recognized program.
  • Certificate of qualification as a Cook issued by a recognized authority.
  • Post-secondary diploma in food and nutrition management or a post-secondary degree in food and nutrition.
  • "Red Seal" certification preferred.
  • Experience in institutional large quantity cooking preferred.
  • Ability to work safely, following established safety practices and procedures.
  • Ability to read and write English, and understand moderately complex verbal and written instructions in English.
  • Proven ability to provide direction and lead others within a busy environment.
