Responsibilities- Develop and implement engaging forest programs that promote learning and exploration.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children during outdoor activities, including forest play, hiking, and climbing.
- Prepare and maintain learning areas and materials to support program delivery.
- Assume responsibility for program tools and equipment, including safety, use, and maintenance.
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan and deliver seasonal activities and projects that incorporate natural materials and local resources.
- Provide mentorship and support to children, focusing on compassion, respect, and individualized learning.
- Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless program delivery.
- Be physically capable of performing teaching duties in various weather conditions, including walking distances and uneven terrain.
- Support the development of risk-taking, movement, and physical skills in young children.
- Encourage children to develop an appreciation for local flora and fauna, including poisonous plants and their locations.
- Model and teach outdoor skills, such as risk management, knots, shelter building, and leave-no-trace practices.
- Current First Aid Certificate.
- Current Criminal Record Check.
- Experience working with school-aged children, preferably in outdoor education settings.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for interacting with children, parents, and colleagues.
