Our market sector includes public and private utilities, heavy industry, educational institutions, the forest sector, mines, oil & gas, ports, city works, airports, bulk material handling, and independent power producers.

About the Role:

We are looking for an Electrical Design Specialist to join our electrical design group in Burnaby, BC. As an Electrical Design Specialist, you will work in a team setting and participate in various design projects, including transmission, distribution, and substation design, as well as power system studies. You may also be asked to collaborate with other staff members on non-power system-related design packages.

  • Work collaboratively within a project team of engineers and designers;
  • Assist with substation and overhead line/underground cable routing layout and configuration design;
  • Contribute to project development, scope, and budget;
  • Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Able to work effectively both independently and as a member of a team;
  • Experience working on HV substation designs for utilities in North America would be considered an asset;
  • Familiarity with drafting software such as AutoCAD would be beneficial;
  • Class 5 driver's license required;
  • Eligible to work in Canada;
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Diploma or Certificate in Design or Drafting from a recognized institution;
  • 4-5 years of experience in drafting;
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software suite;
  • Strong attention to detail;

Schedule:
