Job Title: Production Machine Operator

We are seeking a skilled Production Machine Operator to join our team in Pointe-Claire. As a Production Machine Operator, you will be responsible for operating automatic machines to produce parts according to blueprints, specifications, and special instructions.

Responsibilities:
  • Operate up to three automatic machines to produce parts according to blueprints, specifications, and special instructions.
  • Recognize and detect machine out-of-tolerance and adjust controls or control media as required.
  • Perform basic trial runs to check accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.
  • Check parts for conformance to specifications using gauges and shop floor system.
  • Recognize and remedy minor machine malfunctioning and in-process inspections.
  • Provide necessary information to Manufacturing team, Engineering Team, or others to document procedures and drawings.
  • Perform work operations under supervision.
  • Check tooling and rework as needed to keep machine running.
  • Lay out parts for successive and continuous machining operations.
  • Examine products to verify conformance to quality standards, by following blueprints or work instructions.
  • Participate and maintain LEAP and APU/GAP standards.
  • Participate and engage in the PSM1 meetings, reporting any ongoing and long-term problems you encounter.
  • Perform record keeping, data entry, housekeeping, and follows all safety regulations.
  • Responsible for complying with the rules and regulations set forth by Federal, Local, and State government, LISI Aerospace, and HSE Procedures.
  • Responsible for attending all training provided and for adhering to all HSE procedures, policies, and plans, conforming to reporting requirements, and safe operating procedures always.
  • Required to bring any known or suspected nonconformance for all company procedures or legal requirements to management's attention immediately.
  • Continually seek opportunities to improve our HSE performance by establishing objectives and targets, measuring progress, and reporting our results.
  • Works under recommended waste elimination initiatives specifically related to the manufacturing production function such as recycling opportunities to elimination or minimize production waste.
  • Performs a variety of other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Have an interest in manual labor and/or experience in a manual labor role.
  • Have the ability to read and interpret blueprints, and an understanding of the different tools/equipment (an asset).
  • The capacity and interest to work with numbers (+/-/x/÷).
  • The ability to: stand; walk; reach; etc.
  • The ability to occasionally: sit; climb or balance; stoop; kneel; crouch; crawl; etc.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • A dynamic and professional approach.
