Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Registration and Education: Registration with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN registrant or a practicing RPN registrant, and graduation from a recognized nursing program.
  • Experience and Skills: Two to three years' direct relevant experience dealing with adult mental health, with a significant understanding of mental health issues pertaining to the adult mentally ill, the availability of programs, and their function in delivering services to this population.
  • Clinical Expertise: Clinical expertise in the full range of mental disorders in adults, including knowledge of mental health assessment, treatment methodologies, intervention strategies, and community dynamics.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to remain calm in crisis situations, and possess sound judgement, tact, patience, and flexibility.
  • Teamwork and Autonomy: Ability to work effectively as a team player, with autonomy and initiative to take on new challenges and responsibilities.
Requirements
  • Registration and Licensure: Current registration with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN registrant or a practicing RPN registrant.
  • Education and Experience: Graduation from a recognized nursing program, and two to three years' direct relevant experience dealing with adult mental health.
