Job Title: Financial Analyst

The University of British Columbia is seeking a highly skilled Financial Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for providing financial analysis and planning support to our units.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare budgets and projections to help units manage their financial resources effectively.
  • Provide financial reporting and analysis to support decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain complex financial models and reports using various software packages.
  • Monitor compliance with GAAP, UBC policies, and tax regulations.
  • Participate in the development of new corporate systems and processes.
Requirements:
  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Enrolled in the CPA Professional Education Program (PEP) modules.
  • Minimum of three years of related experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Completion of the CPA Accounting program (CA, CGA, or CMA).
  • Experience managing general ledger activity, including accounts payable, cash management, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Experience in fund accounting, financial control, and policy interpretation.
  • Experience working with different computer systems, including ERPs.
  • Experience managing staff.
