About the Role:
Bureau Veritas Group is seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Analyst - Ecotoxicology Specialist to join our environmental laboratory team in Sainte-Foy, QC.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform complex analyses on samples and prepare samples for testing;
- Conduct breeding monitoring of algae, daphnia, ceriodaphnia, fathead, and trout;
- Maintain equipment related to breeding and analyses, ensuring optimal performance;
- Operate and maintain one or more systems of aquariums or pools in open systems;
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure accuracy and quality of work;
- Ensure quality control criteria are met for all reported data;
- Understand and troubleshoot analyses, providing input to corrective action procedures;
- Meet deadlines and ensure equipment is properly maintained;
- Use summary reports to plan and organize work;
- Adhere to laboratory safety rules and regulations;
- Keep work areas clean, neat, and organized;
- Contribute to daily and weekly planning;
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor or team leader.
Requirements:
- Diploma in bioecology, biology, or related field;
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
- Excellent record-keeping skills and attention to detail;
- Dynamic, energetic, motivated, and positive attitude.
Working Conditions:
- Work schedule: day/evening/weekends + overtime when required;
- Full-time, 37.5 hours/week.
