About the Role

Techo-Bloc is seeking a highly skilled Assistant Controller to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for providing financial analysis and support to our Controller.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Statement Preparation: Assist the Controller in preparing and analyzing financial statements and notes.
  • Asset Tracking: Ensure accurate tracking and reconciliation of fixed assets.
  • Month-End and Year-End Closing: Participate in the month-end and year-end closing process with external auditors.
  • Transfer Pricing: Monitor and track transfer prices for intercompany transactions.
  • Accounts Payable and Receivable: Ensure timely payment of invoices and collection of receivables.
  • Inventory and Accounts Payable/Receivable Reconciliation: Reconcile all types of records (inventory, accounts payable/receivable, sales).
  • Foreign Exchange Rate Revaluation: Revalue foreign currency-denominated debt, equity, and bank accounts.
  • Payroll Discrepancies: Validate payroll discrepancies.
  • Shared Costs Allocation: Reallocate shared costs between affiliated companies.
  • Provision Calculation: Calculate and track monthly provisions.
Financial Analysis Responsibilities
  • Budgeting: Assist the Controller in preparing the annual budget in collaboration with department heads.
  • Bonus Calculation: Calculate bonuses for various departments based on performance targets.
  • Financial Analysis: Assist the Controller in various financial analyses (inventory, sales, COGS, insurance, process improvement).
  • Monthly Operations Review: Participate in monthly meetings with operations directors.
  • AX 365 Migration: Assist the Controller in migrating to AX 365.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • CPA designation.
  • 1-3 years of experience in accounting, preferably as an Assistant Controller.
  • Manufacturing industry experience (an asset).
  • Bilingualism (verbal and written) in English and French (English required for serving US and Ontario clients).
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a team, manage stress, and work independently.
