Job Overview

Opla Energy seeks a skilled Managed Pressure Drilling Technician/Supervisor to oversee the installation and operation of Managed Pressure Drilling jobs in the field.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise the operation of proprietary software for MPD jobs.
  • Ensure accurate documentation, including safety meetings, daily tickets, JHA's, and permits.
  • Identify and handle kicks and various drilling scenarios.
  • Maintain equipment cleanliness and functionality, performing maintenance as required.
  • Evaluate experimental procedures and recommend changes for efficiency and adaptability.
  • Adhere to safety procedures and quality policies.
  • Perform tasks in a safe and responsible manner.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • 2+ years of field experience with knowledge in MPD processes, equipment capabilities, or downhole knowledge.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Pre-employment testing (drug, alcohol, and fitness).
  • Basic Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel computer skills.
  • Must reside in the US due to the US-based position.

Competencies

  • Ability to walk and stand for 12 hours.
  • Consistent lifting of 50 lbs.
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to read and respond to well plans, drilling procedures, and math calculations.
  • Familiarity with machinery and strong general mechanical skills.
  • Willingness to learn and collaborate within a team.
