Job Overview:

Citigroup Inc. is seeking an experienced Data Governance Strategist to join its Financial Resource Management Technology (FRMT) Data Services team within the Treasury Global Function.

The successful candidate will lead activities to support the implementation of the Data Governance Policy/Data Risk and Control framework, contributing to the definition of the Enterprise Data Governance Strategy, and/or Data Risk and Control Framework and Data Taxonomy.

Responsibilities include:

  • Implementing, enforcing, and improving the data governance strategy, framework, and procedures.
  • SUPPORTING DATA STRATEGY AND DRIVING DATA MANAGEMENT, DATA QUALITY RULES MANAGEMENT, LINEAGE, AND TAXONOMY ACROSS ALL OF FRMT.
  • Defining, monitoring, and enforcing KPIs related to compliance with the data governance policy.
  • Liaising between the Enterprise Data Office, Business/Function aligned Data Offices, and other key partners in Business/Functions to progress the Data Transformation agenda.
  • Establishing a level of trust and credibility by building and maintaining relationships with important partners to ensure continuous improvement, monitoring, control, and governance of data quality.
  • Leading the facilitation, coordination, and arbitration of cross-functional complex problems within / across programs and with senior stakeholders.
  • Developing content for relevant governance forums.
  • Appropriately assessing risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets, by driving compliance with applicable rules, laws, and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct, and business practices, and escalating managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in analyzing and managing data.
  • Project Management experience.
  • At least 5+ years of experience in banking and financial services industry, Capital Markets, information technology, and data governance.
  • 5+ years of Data Analysis/Data Investigation.
  • 5+ years of SQL.
  • Experience in data governance/strategy, data operating model practices is a must.
  • Experience in managing and implementing successful data governance/management programs.
  • Communicates effectively, develops and delivers multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences; able to drive consensus, and influence relationships at all levels.
  • Collaborates effectively by building partnerships and working well with others to meet shared objectives.
  • Strong negotiation, influencing, and stakeholder management skills across a variety of stakeholders at different levels.
  • Optimizes work processes by balancing effective/efficient processes with a focus on continuous improvement. Demonstrates ability to balance between seeing the "big picture" while paying close attention to detail.
  • Organizational savvy: understands systems, management processes, knows where to go for information and how to interpret them.
  • Proficiency in presentation tools is required.
  • Ability to communicate (both verbal and written) issues in a clear and timely manner to build trusting partnerships with a wide variety of audiences and stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated, highly-focused, detail-oriented as well as a team player with high energy levels and the desire to learn and progress within the company.
  • Knowledge of business analysis procedures and concepts and basic knowledge of other technical areas.
  • Proven analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication.
  • Proven ability to effectively use complex analytical, interpretive, and problem-solving techniques.
  • Proven relationship management skills to partner and influence across organizational lines.
  • Comfortable working with large data volumes and be able to demonstrate a firm understanding of logical data structures and analysis techniques.

Education:

Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience.
