Job Title: Counsellor to Students

The Michener Institute of Education at University Health Network is seeking a Counsellor to Students to join our Student Success team. As a Counsellor, you will play a vital role in supporting the mental health and wellbeing of our post-secondary students enrolled in allied health programming.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide academic and personal support services to students, including guidance and counselling.
  • Develop and deliver workshops and programs to promote student wellbeing and success.
  • Assess and address student concerns, implementing relevant strategies and techniques to support their growth and development.
  • Collaborate with the Student Success team to ensure a comprehensive and supportive environment for students.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Counselling (Education, Psychology, or Social Work).
  • Membership in a professional counselling organization (CRPO, CCPA, CASWE, OAMHP).
  • Strong working knowledge of post-secondary student issues and challenges.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in group counselling and workshop facilitation.
  • Knowledge of anti-oppressive practice, psychodynamic, CBT, DBT, trauma-informed, and somatic counselling models.
  • Commitment to on-site counselling and supervising beginning counsellors.
