About the Role

Ontario Health is seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Analyst to join our Finance department. As an integral member of the team, you will work collaboratively with senior finance and business unit management to provide sound financial planning and budgeting support throughout the fiscal year.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform complex financial analyses to prepare reports and presentations for all levels of management and executives, facilitating decision-making and financial reporting.
  • Prepare Ministry financial reports in accordance with their reporting timelines, and review supporting documents and schedules for internal and external auditors.
  • Use financial analyses to identify and communicate issues, impacts, and recommended solutions.
  • Meet regularly with management and budget leads to review monthly financial results, highlighting key messages and preparing forecasts, accruals, and cost allocation of resources.
  • Provide financial expertise and support in interpreting and understanding financial information.
  • Assess the budgetary impacts of all procurements in excess of $250,000 and all staffing changes, prior to granting budget approval.
  • Work with the business unit and other financial analysts to prepare the annual budget and draft incremental funding requests for new initiatives.
  • Engage in high-quality interactions with business units to contribute to the development and execution of strategic decisions.
  • Continually evaluate and improve analytical spreadsheets and tools for financial decision-making.
Requirements
  • Undergraduate degree in an appropriate discipline (e.g., business administration, finance) or equivalent.
  • Maintains a Chartered Professional Accountant designation.
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in financial management, reporting, and analysis.
