About the Job

This is a temporary position, requiring a minimum of 32 to 40 hours per week. The ideal candidate will have an AZ class license and experience driving straight or articulated trucks. You will also need to have good communication skills, as you will be working with a two-person team or convoy.

Responsibilities
  • Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy to transport goods and materials
  • Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
  • Load and unload goods
  • Obtain special permits and other documents required to transport cargo on international routes
  • Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
  • Perform brake adjustments
  • Perform emergency roadside repairs
  • Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle
  • Perform preventive maintenance
  • Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
  • Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo
  • Transport and handle dangerous goods
Requirements
  • AZ class license
  • Experience driving straight or articulated trucks
  • Good communication skills
Working Conditions

This is a physically demanding job that requires regular travel. You will be expected to work in a fast-paced environment, often under tight deadlines. You must be able to lift heavy objects, stand for long periods, and work in a variety of weather conditions.

Compensation
