Job DescriptionCompany Overview

Candidate will work across the organization and with external stakeholders to develop and advance the Company's policy priorities in Canada and support the broader Public Affairs function.

  • Design and lead strategic public affairs programs across all three levels of government
  • Leverage experience working with and understanding policymaking processes
  • Work closely with government officials, industry associations, community groups and local stakeholders
Key Responsibilities
  1. Proactively monitor the Canadian policy and regulatory landscape
  2. Draft a variety of policy documents including policy papers, submissions to government consultations and internal briefing notes
  3. Support Public Affairs team on broader global developments outside of North America
  4. Contribute materials for board meetings, strategic planning, internal newsletters, and presentations
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in public policy, business, environmental studies or related field
  • A minimum 10-15 years of progressively responsible experience in government relations, public policy development, stakeholder relations, and/or government
  • In-depth knowledge of key Canadian policy issues affecting manufacturing, energy, transportation and agriculture
  • Well-developed analytical skills, as well as the ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
