We are seeking a highly experienced professional to join our Algorithmic Trading Risk and Control team at BMO Financial Group.

The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of algorithmic trading and a proven track record in risk management and control.

The role involves developing and implementing a comprehensive control framework that ensures alignment with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.

This includes enhancing existing policies, procedures, and controls to effectively monitor and manage algorithmic trading activities.

Responsibilities:
  1. Control Framework Development:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive control framework specific to algorithmic trading activities.
  • Enhance existing policies, procedures, and controls to ensure effective monitoring and management of algorithmic trading activities.
Governance Oversight:
  • Lead the governance process for algorithmic trading initiatives.
  • Ensure adherence to established guidelines and risk parameters.
Regulatory Compliance:
  • Stay abreast of relevant regulatory developments.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations through the governance framework.
Reporting:
  • Prepare and present regular reports on trading controls, governance issues, and compliance status.
Team Leadership and Development:
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of control and governance professionals.
Operational Risk Events:
  • Conduct post-incident reviews to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote a culture of governance and control.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.
