Permitting Engineer Co-Op/Intern

About the Role:

The Permitting Engineer Co-Op/Intern will support the preparation of all applicable land use permits required for the minerals and concentrates operations. This role will collaborate with Mosaic's Procurement team in developing scope of works, preparing requests for quotes and proposals, and evaluating bids.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review all aspects related to permitting projects, including working with subject matter expert consultants, legal counsel, and on-site inspections.
  • Collaborate with the Operations staff to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with various stakeholders, including management, plant operators, engineers, and contractors.
  • Participate in department meetings and project-specific meetings.
  • Support the preparation of permit applications and ensure timely submission.

Requirements:

  • Sophomore level or higher pursuing a bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, Biology, or Environmental policy or sciences.
  • Ability to function in an industrial chemical and mining environment.
  • Previous internship or co-op experience is preferred.
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver's license.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with an industrial environment.
