As a key member of our millwork and cabinetry department, you will be responsible for measuring, cutting, shaping, assembling, and joining materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials. Your expertise will be essential in fitting and installing windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware, as well as instructing apprentices and operating CADD and other computer software systems.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in carpentry and furniture assembly, with experience in working with various materials and equipment. You will be expected to work efficiently, accurately, and safely, with a focus on delivering high-quality results. Key Responsibilities:

  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials
  • Fitting and installing windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware

  • Assembling wood products such as window sashes, doors, boxes, pallets, ladders, and barrels
  • Repairing furniture frames and refinishing wood surfaces

Requirements:

  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in carpentry and furniture assembly
  • Ability to work in a noisy and dusty environment
  • Physical stamina to handle heavy loads and work long hours
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
